Operation Rolling Thunder Strategy PDF Print E-mail

banner-ads_2010_600x160

The strategy of Operation Rolling Thunder is very simple.  We connect prayer events before the NDP to the GDP [Global Day of Prayer]. We begin 31 days before NDP April 5, 2010. Each of the 31 churches takes a 24 hour period to pray in any method they would like.  They have total autonomy.  Some will do it at their churches with worship, others will do a phone tree. One has said they will have 24 prayer captains who will come to the church and lead. But all will pray for specific targeted problems of the Wichita area, and the state of Kansas.  With unity we will cover Wichita for city-wide transformation 24/7/365 until we hear the Lord say to stop. Each church takes the same day each month. And the voice of the Lord Thundered!!! Praying together for  city-wide  transformation.

"Many of us have been praying for our city for months, even years. Now this opportunity has come along to join our efforts and give Wichita the prayer focus and covering it desperately needs. I am thrilled by the thought that someone would be praying for our city at every moment of every day. Our church is absolutely on board with the other churches joining Operation Rolling Thunder. I hope you'll engage this effort too."
Pastor Mike Clarensau -Maranatha Worship Center
Leads prayer each Tuesday @ 8 a.m.

"For more than 10 years, dozens of intercessors have been praying until something happens. Every Wednesday at noon, we cry out for the Lord to transform this city for His Kingdom, and these prayers have plowed, seeded and watered the ground. Now, we are seeing the sprouts of what God is doing in and around Wichita! I believe Operation Rolling Thunder is an answer to those prayers. There is something happening! The Lord of Hosts is raising up an army of prayers -- in the closets and on the walls. This is a tremendous opportunity for all the Church to join together and pray in unity, crying out day and night for His speedy justice in our community. The prayer furnace is heating up for Wichita! "

Each Kansas community can be uplifted by these words.  That these things might happen in all the communities in Kansas.

Answered Prayer across Kansas since April 6, 2009 PDF Print E-mail

In Topeka, Kansas the police have documented a 15.4% drop in crime since April 6th. The team in Topeka is working hard to involve more churches.

In Southwest Kansas, particularly Elkhart, Dodge City, Garden City, they were experiencing a drought. Elkhart only had 5 inches of rain in the last year. Since April 6th, they have had more rain than the last 7 years.

In Dodge City, we prayed for the healing of the Hispanic people and the community as well as the drought. Dodge City is green and beautiful. Last weekend 120 Hispanic and white women gathered in Bible Study together. This has never happened before.

In Ark City, they are sensing a unity of purpose not to give into fear in their businesses. They are placing signs in the downtown businesses that “We have decided not to participate in doom and gloom.” Their attitude toward the financial downfall is speaking life into the community.

In Plainville, up in Northwest Kansas, the church that hosted the 24/7 prayer reported a complete rainbow right over their church the first day of the prayer. Last weekend they reported that it is growing in their town.

In Northeast Kansas at Haskell University, they have had 75 salvations since April 6th. They had a beautiful commemorative service, on September 17th, that released the Spirit of Forgiveness at the 125th year since the doors of Haskell opened where they removed Indian children from their homes, cut their hair, put “American” clothes on them and told them not to speak in their language. God forgive us. Shame has been removed and liberty is flourishing!!

In Wichita they were averaging 3 homicides per month. From April 6th – NDP there was not one homicide. A new team of leaders is now working in Wichita to get more churches up on the wall.

In Manhattan, many churches are reporting a sense of unity and seeing more called to committed prayer. Women are praying each morning. Across the state rainbows are being reported many times double rainbows. The people are loving the fact that they are praying together.

This last weekend on Sept. 24-26, many new contacts have signed up to get 24. 7 prayer started in their area.

NDP Reports 2009

Isaiah 62:6-7, “I have set watchman on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace DAY or NIGHT.  You who make mention of the Lord DO NOT KEEP SILENT.  And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

Look What Happens when God’s People Pray!!!

ARK CITY – Donna spoke in Ark City at the noon National Day of Prayer event.  All 28 of their churches are committing to pray 24/7 indefinitely.  That city has experienced consequences of being so close to a casino, robberies, etc.  We will join them in prayer that the Lord will honor their petitions.  The Lord is moving through the hard work of the two connectors in Ark City who tirelessly went from church to church to ask for their participation.
DODGE CITY – received much needed rain.  They had 23 churches participate in ORT and most of them will continue to pray throughout the year.  People who used to live there have returned and been pleasantly surprised at the beauty of going from a drought to lush green.  Praise the Lord.  The Hyspanic Community have embraced ORT .  Linda, was invited to speak to the ministerial alliance in mid May.  She has also been joined by others as they have researched the history of Dodge City and uncovered some significant prayer directions.
GARDEN CITY – has 22 churches participating in ORT and more than half of the Hispanic churches were involved.  Cora said that NDP was sponsored for the first time by seven different churches.  One of the Hyspanic Pastors brought their own interpreter and is so excited about ORT.  The Body of Christ is benefiting by the exuberance of the Hispanic churches.
LEOTI – Marcia Mehl from Leoti reports that their time at the public grade school was very special this year.  Over 3/4 of the school participated and came out in front of the school and surrounded the firemen, police and public officials.  First the leaders of the community prayed for the children and then the children prayed for their leaders.  The night before at the Youth Rally for NDP Pastors broke the youth up into groups of 8 and took them into separate rooms for prayer.  The Pastors were blown away by the maturity of their prayers.
MANHATTAN – is experiencing a spirit of brotherly love.  In fact, one headline in their local newspaper had those words in large print.  At their NDP event, the Pastor in charge brought the ORT Leadership Team forward to have the community lay hands on them and pray for a special anointing to continue.  All the churches in Manhattan are continuing.  They include several small towns in the area.
TOPEKA – Topeka had every day covered.  One man had expressed concern about praying for an entire hour. By the time he was finished praying it had been 1 hour and 25 min.  The Capital Event in Topeka was especially awesome as children were able to attend.  Earl Pickard along with David Epps had this time of worship and prayer.  Earl actually brought the prayer that went to court in 1965 when prayer was taken out of our public schools.  He had the children read it and make a declaration.  Several Legislators attended and Earl spontaneously went to them and the crowd surrounded them and prayed over them.  An ORT testimony was given by LeRoy Ware.  On April 9th, 3 days after the beginning of ORT a group of teachers decided to start meeting for prayer.  They felt led to pray for an area around the world unknown to them and found out later why their intercession was so important.
ULYSSES – had wonderful messages and prayer time led by Cary Binney four times on NDP.  Cary is committed to ORT and has been laying the ground work for over 6 months. Cary was so obedient to the Lord that at 3:30 a.m. was awakened to change his messages for the 4 events.
WICHITA – One family got up at 3 a.m. and came to their church to take their place on the wall.  In Wichita homicides totally stopped for the time period of April 6, 2009 - May 10, 2009.  That city had been averaging 3 homicides a month before ORT.  50 churches in Wichita participated in ORT and many will continue for the next year.  On NDP children from Christian Schools and Homeschoolers read the Word of God from the center of the city according to Nehemiah 9.  They sang “God of the City” and prayed.  The story made the front page of the state and Local section of the Wichita Eagle.  That night over 700 gathered at Century II.  A Messianic Jewish Congregation worshiped in dance before Yeshua.  They prayed for a solid hour in small circles for their city, state and nation.  It was meaningful to all who attended.
More Reports to come…
